AFRICAN RITES
This acrylic on canvas painting was done in 2005 as an exercise in painting different materials. I believe that it was successful since it was later adapted as a cover for book.
SELF PORTRAIT - 1980
This acrylic paint on canvas self portrait was done around 1980. I usually attempt a self portrait every 10 years or so, just to capture my changes at different ages.
SOWETO MOTHER
This acrylic on canvas painting was done in the late 1970s. It was to honor the children who rioted against apartheid in South Africa in the 1960s and 70s.

This acrylic on canvas painting was done in honor of the Black Nationalist movement in the US much of which was sparked by Malcolm X/El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.
MOORISH IDOL
This acrylic on canvas painting was done in early 1980's. This fish is actually call moorish idol. At various times, I have chosen to paint from nature.
